Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and how I protect it. I’ve written it clearly because privacy shouldn’t require a law degree to understand.
1. What Information We Collect
Information You Give Us Directly
When you use Slaosian, you may provide:
- Account information: Name, email address, password, and profile details when you create an account.
- Profile & Vendor information: Bio, subjects you teach, credentials, business information, and banking/payout details (if you choose to register as a service provider or digital asset seller).
- Content you post: SOS requests, tutor profile details, course details, study notes metadata, external download links, and messages you send.
- Communications: When you contact us via email, we keep records of those conversations.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use Slaosian, we automatically collect:
- Usage data: How you interact with the platform (pages visited, features used).
- Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system.
- Cookies and similar technologies: To keep you logged in and understand how people use the site.
Information Related to Purchases
When you buy or download from our shop:
- Payment information: Razorpay processes payments—we do not store your credit card or bank details.
- Purchase history: What digital asset or service package you bought/downloaded and when.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve Slaosian: Make the platform work, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Connect you with others: Display your SOS requests, tutor profiles, and digital storefront assets to the community.
- Process purchases & downloads: Handle payments, verify account access, and securely mask external file links delivered to buyers.
- Communicate with you: Respond to your questions, send important updates, and (with your consent) share news about new products.
- Keep the community safe: Monitor for spam, harassment, and policy violations.
- Analyze usage: Understand how people use Slaosian so we can make it better.
We do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers. Period.
3. Sharing Your Information & Third-Party Lead Routing
We share your information only in these specific situations:
Lead Generation & Service Provider Routing (Consent-Based)
- Sponsored & Co-Branded Resources: When you register an account or complete a form to download specific free or sponsored ebooks, guides, or training resources, you explicitly consent to having your contact information (such as Name, Email, and Phone Number) automatically routed to our verified third-party service providers or sponsors associated with that resource category. You will always be given clear notice at the point of access.
With Other Users (Marketplace Ecosystem)
- When you post an SOS, list a training service, or publish a digital product (notes, courses), that content is visible to the Slaosian community.
- Your name, profile picture, and store details are visible to people you interact with.
- Messages you send are visible to the recipients.
With Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services that process information on our behalf to keep the site functional:
- Razorpay: Processes payments and vendor withdrawal payouts.
- WooCommerce & Dokan: Power our marketplace architecture, frontend vendor dashboards, and digital asset management.
- Hosting provider: Stores our website data securely.
- Email service: Helps us send platform notifications and system alerts.
For Legal Reasons
We may share information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that it’s necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect rights, or investigate safety violations.
Business Transfers
If Slaosian is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You’ll be notified via email of any such change.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies (small text files stored on your device) to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and improve your experience. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of Slaosian may not work properly.
5. Data Storage and Security
Where We Store Data
Your information is stored on secure servers located in India. If you’re accessing Slaosian from outside India, your data will be transferred to and stored in India.
Security Measures
- All connections to Slaosian use HTTPS encryption.
- Passwords are hashed and salted (we never store them in plain text).
- Vendor-submitted file links are natively masked and protected via secure internal redirect pathways.
- Access to backend personal information is strictly limited to me and essential service providers.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you.
- Account information: Retained until you delete your account.
- Purchase/Download records: Retained for tax and accounting purposes (usually 7 years).
- Content you post: Remains visible until you delete it or your account is closed.
You can request deletion of your account anytime by emailing helpdesk@slaosian.com.
7. Your Rights and Choices
For All Users
- Access and correction: You can view and update most account information directly via your dashboard. Email us for anything you can’t change.
- Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account at any time.
For Users in India (Under IT Act, 2000)
You have the right to withdraw consent for marketing communications and lodge a complaint with the relevant authority if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.
For Users in Other Regions
If you’re in the EU, UK, or similar jurisdictions, you may have additional rights under applicable laws (like GDPR), including data portability and processing restrictions. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children’s Privacy
Slaosian is intended for users aged 13 and above. Users between 13 and 18 should have parental or guardian permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Third-Party Links
Slaosian contains external links (including file links hosted by vendors on external platforms like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Mega). This privacy policy applies only to Slaosian. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or link stability of outside networks.
10. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When I do, the “Last Updated” date at the top will change. If there are significant changes, I’ll notify you via email or a prominent notice on the site.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, specifically the jurisdiction of Kolkata, West Bengal, and complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
