A Note From Subhendu
Hey there. I’m the person behind Slaosian, and I’m writing this myself because I believe terms should sound like a human wrote them—not a law firm.
This page matters. It protects you, it protects me, and it protects the community we’re building together. Please take a few minutes to read it. If something doesn’t make sense, email me directly at helpdesk@slaosian.com. I actually reply.
Now, let’s get into it.
1. What We’re Building Together
Slaosian is a multi-layered digital knowledge hub and peer-to-peer study network containing three primary components:
- The Free Community (Peer-to-Peer): Students post SOS requests when they are stuck on a problem, and tutors offer their time freely via callback requests. No platform fees or commissions are taken for these direct, helpful tutoring connections.
- The First-Party Shop: I personally create, quality-test, and sell premium study resources—PDFs, Notion templates, practice papers, formula sheets, and flashcards.
- The Vendor Marketplace (Digital Assets): We allow vetted third-party vendors and educators to list, market, and sell their own digital knowledge assets (such as study notes, exam preparation packs, and link-based courses) directly to students.
2. By Using Slaosian, You Agree To These Terms
By creating an account, posting an SOS, requesting a callback, purchasing from the shop, or listing a digital asset as a vendor, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please close the tab and find a different study spot.
We may update these terms occasionally. If you keep using Slaosian after changes are posted, that means you accept the updated terms.
3. Who Can Join & Account Requirements
- Age Requirements: You must be at least 13 years old to use Slaosian. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission.
- Account Responsibility: You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password secure.
- Mandatory Login Rule: To download free resources or purchase any first-party or vendor digital assets, you must be logged into a verified Slaosian account. Guest checkout is disabled to ensure community accountability.
4. Understanding Our Role & Marketplace Architecture
- For Free Tutoring Connections: We are a facilitator. We provide the space where students and tutors connect. We do not monitor live conversations, verify the exact quality of free help, or act as an employer.
- For The First-Party Shop: Products under this designation are created, tested, and sold directly by me, Subhendu Dutta. I stand behind these resources fully.
- For The Vendor Marketplace: We provide the transactional infrastructure (WooCommerce/Dokan) for independent sellers to list assets. We do not inspect every line of text uploaded by third-party sellers, nor do we handle physical inventory or shipping.
5. Marketplace Rules & Infrastructure Limitations
🔴 SOS Requests & Free Tutoring
- SOS requests are completely free peer-to-peer interactions. No money is involved, and tutors may not ask students for payment under this framework. Tutors must represent their knowledge honestly and treat members respectfully.
🛒 First-Party and Vendor Digital Sales
- Link-Only Asset Delivery: To protect our server infrastructure and performance, vendors are strictly prohibited from uploading raw files (such as PDFs, ZIPs, or MP4 video files) directly to our hosting servers. Vendors must host their assets securely on external, authorized storage (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Mega) and input the download link.
- Link Masking: Slaosian utilizes an internal encryption framework to automatically mask vendor URLs during checkout. Buyers receive a dynamic, secure redirect download button that keeps the vendor’s raw external hosting links hidden.
- Usage License: Buying an asset gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use it for your own learning. You cannot resell, redistribute, or publicly upload files purchased on Slaosian.
6. Payments, Fees, and Automated Payouts
- Payment Processing: We use Razorpay to process all platform transactions securely in Indian Rupees (₹).
- Automated Vendor Commission Splits: When a customer purchases a marketplace asset from a third-party vendor, our system utilizes integrated multi-vendor routing rules. The transaction is automatically split: the vendor receives their set product revenue portion, and Slaosian retains a fixed marketplace platform fee.
- Refund Policy: Because digital goods are delivered instantly, all sales are final. However, if a file link is broken, corrupted, or misrepresented, contact helpdesk@slaosian.com within 14 days so we can step in, coordinate with the vendor, and make it right.
7. Third-Party Data Routing & Consensual Sharing
- Data Routing for Premium Content: By accessing, ordering, or completing forms to acquire specific free or co-branded study resources, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that your registered contact credentials (including Name, Email, and Phone Number) may be securely routed to our designated third-party educational partners or sponsors associated with that category.
- Transactional Routing: Vendor payout setup requires financial identification processing, which is routed securely through Razorpay APIs to manage automated withdrawals and compliance tracking.
8. The Golden Rules (Strict Enforcement)
Break these rules and your account will be terminated immediately with zero warnings and zero second chances:
- No Harassment: Zero tolerance for hate speech, bullying, or sharing private conversations without permission.
- No Spamming: Do not pitch external courses, newsletters, or outside businesses inside direct messages or SOS boards unless explicitly requested.
- No Server Exploitation: Any attempt to bypass the link-only entry rules to inject large files onto our core servers will result in an immediate IP and account ban.
- No Fraud: Tutors and vendors must not claim false credentials or list stolen/copyright-infringing study sheets.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
- We provide Slaosian on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While I test my own shop goods extensively, we cannot guarantee third-party vendor links will remain active indefinitely if a vendor alters their personal cloud storage folders.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slaosian and Subhendu Dutta shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages. If something goes wrong, our maximum financial liability is strictly capped at the total amount you paid us over the past 12 months.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, specifically under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal. Any legal disputes stemming from platform interactions or purchases shall be handled exclusively within Kolkata.
