A Note From Subhendu
Hey there. I’m the person behind Slaosian, and I’m writing this myself because I believe terms should sound like a human wrote them—not a law firm.
This page matters. It protects you, it protects me, and it protects the community we’re building together. Please take a few minutes to read it. If something doesn’t make sense, email me directly at helpdesk@slaosian.com. I actually reply.
Now, let’s get into it.
1. What We’re Building Together
Slaosian is a late-night study hub with two simple parts:
The Community (Peer-to-Peer):
- Students post SOS requests when they’re stuck on a problem
- Tutors create profiles offering help—students can request a callback to connect
- All tutoring connections are free. No payments, no commissions, no bookings—just genuine help
The Shop (First-Party):
- I create and sell quality-tested digital products—PDFs, Notion templates, practice papers, formula sheets, flashcards, and other study resources
- Every product in the shop is personally reviewed and approved by me
- We also offer a 30% affiliate commission for partners who refer customers to our products
This is a straightforward community: students help students, tutors offer their time freely, and I provide trusted resources you can rely on.
2. By Using Slaosian, You Agree To These Terms
By creating an account, posting an SOS, creating a tutor profile, requesting a callback, or purchasing from our shop, you’re agreeing to everything below.
If you don’t agree—no hard feelings—please close the tab and find a different study spot.
We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top. If you keep using Slaosian after changes, that means you’re okay with them.
3. Who Can Join
Age Requirements:
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Slaosian
- If you’re between 13 and 18, please get your parent or guardian’s permission
Account Responsibility:
You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account. Choose a strong password. Don’t share your login. If someone gets into your account, tell us immediately so we can help.
4. Understanding Our Role
Let me be clear about how Slaosian works:
For Peer-to-Peer Community (SOS Requests & Tutor Callbacks):
We are a platform. We provide the space where students and tutors connect. We try to keep things friendly and spam-free.
We are not your employer, your agent, or your guarantor. When you connect with a tutor through a callback request, you’re connecting with that person—not us. We facilitate the connection, but we don’t monitor conversations, verify the quality of help, or guarantee outcomes.
All tutoring help on Slaosian is offered freely by community members. We do not process payments for tutoring, take commissions, or handle any financial transactions between users.
For The Shop:
This is different. I personally create and sell the products here. Every item in our shop has been quality-tested by me. When you buy from our shop, you’re buying directly from me, Subhendu Dutta. I stand behind every resource I create.
5. The Two Parts of Slaosian
🔴 SOS Requests
Stuck on a problem? Post an SOS.
- Describe what you need help with
- Choose a category (Physics, Coding, Calculus, etc.)
- Community members can respond to help you
No money is involved. SOS requests are completely free—no bounties, no payments, no commissions. Just pure peer-to-peer help.
👨🏫 Tutor Profiles
If you want to offer help, create a tutor profile.
- Share your expertise and the subjects you can assist with
- Students can request a callback to connect with you
- You’re free to set your own availability
All tutoring connections are free. Slaosian does not charge for tutor-student connections, and tutors should never ask students for payment. This is a community of genuine help, not a marketplace.
As a tutor, you promise to:
- Be respectful and helpful
- Represent your knowledge honestly
- Not pressure anyone into anything
- Not ask for or accept payments for your help
🛒 The Shop (First-Party Store)
This is where I sell my own quality-tested digital products—resources I’ve created personally to help you study smarter.
What you’re buying:
- Digital goods created and tested by me, Subhendu Dutta
- Instant download access after purchase (via WooCommerce, powered by Razorpay)
- A personal, non-transferable license to use the content for your own learning
What you cannot do:
- Resell or redistribute the files
- Share them with others who haven’t purchased
- Claim my work as your own
- Upload them to public websites or file-sharing platforms
Quality promise:
I personally create and test every product in the shop. If something is wrong—defective file, corrupted download, incorrect content—email me within 14 days and I’ll fix it or replace it. No questions asked.
6. Payments, Fees, and Refunds (Shop Only)
How Payments Work
We use Razorpay to process all shop payments securely. When you purchase a digital product, the funds go through Razorpay’s trusted payment gateway.
Pricing
All product prices are clearly displayed in Indian Rupees (₹). You pay exactly what’s shown—no hidden fees. Razorpay may charge a small processing fee (typically 2-3%), which is included in your total.
Refund Policy
Because digital goods are delivered instantly, all sales are final—with one important exception:
If there’s a genuine problem—the file won’t download, it’s corrupted, or it’s not what was described—email me at helpdesk@slaosian.com within 14 days. I’ll make it right. Either fix the issue or issue a full refund.
I stand behind my work. Every product is quality-tested before it goes live. If you’re unhappy, talk to me.
7. Affiliate Program (30% Commission)
We offer a 30% affiliate commission for partners who refer customers to our shop.
How It Works
- Sign up for our affiliate program (contact us at helpdesk@slaosian.com)
- Receive your unique affiliate link
- Share our products with your audience
- Earn 30% commission on every sale made through your link
Commission Payment
- Commissions are calculated on the sale amount before taxes and payment gateway fees
- Payouts are processed via Razorpay or bank transfer once your earnings reach ₹500
- Commissions are paid within 15 days of the end of each month
Affiliate Guidelines
You may:
- Share your affiliate link on social media, blogs, YouTube, or with friends
- Write honest reviews of our products
- Recommend products you genuinely believe in
You may not:
- Use spam or unsolicited messages to promote your link
- Pretend to be Slaosian or use our name deceptively
- Buy products through your own link to earn commission on yourself
- Use misleading advertising or fake discounts
We reserve the right to terminate affiliate accounts that violate these guidelines. Any fraudulent or spammy activity will result in forfeiture of commissions and account termination.
8. The Golden Rules (Read Carefully)
This is where I stop being nice and start being firm. Slaosian exists because I believe the internet deserves better than spam, scams, and shady behavior. Break these rules and you’re gone. No warnings. No second chances.
You Absolutely Cannot:
Harass Anyone:
- No hate speech, threats, or bullying
- No creepy or inappropriate messages
- No sharing someone’s private conversations without permission
Spam:
- No unsolicited promotions or ads
- No pitching your newsletter, course, or business in DMs unless someone asked
- No posting the same thing repeatedly
Scam or Mislead:
- No fake credentials or lying about your expertise
- No posting fake SOS requests
- No pretending to be someone you’re not
For Tutors Specifically:
- Don’t claim expertise you don’t have
- Don’t ask students for payment—this is a free help community
- Don’t pressure anyone into anything
For Affiliates:
- Don’t use spam to promote your link
- Don’t make false claims about our products
- Don’t engage in fraudulent activity
What Happens If You Break The Rules
We’ll investigate. If we find you violated these terms, we’ll terminate your account immediately. If you’re an affiliate and violate the rules, you’ll forfeit any unpaid commissions and be removed from the program.
We’re fair. We’re also serious about keeping this community safe.
9. Verification and Badges
We may offer verification badges for tutors who provide credentials. Here’s what you should understand:
- Verification means we confirmed the information provided—like a government ID or educational certificate
- It is not an endorsement—we’re not saying verified tutors are better, just that they are who they say they are
- Always use your own judgment—ask questions and decide for yourself
Fake credentials will get you terminated immediately.
10. Disputes
We hope every interaction is wonderful. But sometimes things go wrong.
If You Have an Issue With Another User:
- Talk to each other first. Most problems are misunderstandings.
- If that doesn’t work, email helpdesk@slaosian.com.
- Tell us what happened, and we’ll review.
What We Can Do:
- Facilitate communication between users
- Remove problematic users from the platform
What We Can’t Do:
- Guarantee the quality of help you receive
- Mediate complex disputes
- Issue refunds for free community interactions
If You Have an Issue With a Shop Purchase:

11. Your Content, Your Rights
You Own What You Create:
All SOS posts, profile content, and messages are yours. I’m not claiming ownership of your ideas or words.
The License You Grant Us:
To make the platform work, we need permission to display your content. By posting on Slaosian, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Host, store, and display your content
- Allow other users to interact with it
- Promote Slaosian using screenshots or examples (we’ll ask before using your content prominently)
We will never sell your content or use it for things you didn’t agree to.
12. My Content, My Rights
The Shop:
All products in our shop are created and quality-tested by me, Subhendu Dutta. They are protected by copyright laws.
When you purchase, you receive a license to use them—not ownership of the copyright.
The Platform Itself:
The Slaosian platform—including the code, design, logos, and original content—is owned by me and protected by copyright laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or reproduce the platform
- Use our name or logo to pretend you’re us
- Scrape or crawl the site without permission
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violating the Golden Rules above
- Acting like a spammer or bot
- Being genuinely awful to other humans
- Anything else we deem harmful to the community
If you’re an affiliate and we terminate you for violations, you forfeit any unpaid commissions.
You can also delete your account anytime. Just email us and we’ll make it happen.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties (The Honest Part)
Here’s the truth: we provide Slaosian “as is” and “as available.”
That means:
- We don’t guarantee the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted
- We’re not responsible for other users’ behavior—you interact at your own risk
- We don’t endorse or guarantee any tutor’s qualifications or the quality of help you receive
- I stand behind my shop products—they are quality-tested and created with care. However, I can’t guarantee they’ll meet every individual learning need perfectly
I built this with love and I work hard to keep it running. But I’m human and things sometimes break. I’ll do my best to fix them.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slaosian and Subhendu Dutta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
In plain English: if something goes wrong, you can’t sue me for more than the amount you paid me in the last 12 months. If you paid nothing, well, you get nothing.
This doesn’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Exception: This limitation doesn’t apply to issues with shop products where I’ll work directly with you to resolve problems. I created them. I stand behind them. I’ll make them right.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, specifically the jurisdiction of Kolkata, West Bengal.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Slaosian shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Kolkata.
